Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 boxes boxes of Mrs. T’s Cheddar Pierogies (regular or mini; mini preferred) Look for frozen pierogies; their texture holds up wonderfully during slow cooking.
  • 4 cups chicken broth Homemade is best, but store-bought is acceptable.
  • 8 oz cream cheese (cut into small cubes) Using full-fat cream cheese provides a rich, creamy texture.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use mild or sharp based on preference.
  • 1 lb kielbasa (sliced) A good quality kielbasa enhances the overall flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust seasonings as needed.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by slicing the kielbasa into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In your crock pot, layer the pierogies evenly along the bottom.
  3. Scatter the sliced kielbasa over the top of the pierogies.
  4. Add the cubes of cream cheese and the shredded cheddar cheese generously around.
  5. Gently pour the chicken broth over everything, ensuring it is evenly covered.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cover the crock pot and choose to cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6 hours.
  8. Stir gently once or twice to help the cheeses melt beautifully into the mix.
  9. Once your cooking time is complete, check that the pierogies are tender and the cheese has formed a creamy blend.
  10. Serve hot from the crock pot.

Notes

Consider using a slow cooker liner for easy cleanup. Use fresh herbs to brighten the dish before serving.
