- In a skillet over medium heat, heat a drizzle of olive oil.
- Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and caramelized.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and fully cooked.
Assembly
- Split the hoagie rolls and place them in the skillet to toast lightly.
- Once the beef is cooked, divide it into portions and place each portion onto a hoagie roll.
- Top with 2 slices of provolone cheese for each sandwich.
- Cover the skillet with a lid until the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy your cheesesteak!
Notes
For best results, toast the rolls briefly before adding meat to keep the bread warm and slightly crisp.
